Tom Heffner

About Tom

Tom and Maryrose Heffner lived on Daufuskie Island in Haig Point for 23 years raising three sons (TJ, Sean, and Dillon) who were educated at the Daufuskie Island Elementary School and the Hilton Head Island complexes. Tom was regularly recognized among the top five percent of Re/Max agents in North and South Carolina. He was also inducted into the Re/Max Hall of Fame.

He helped found Daufukie Properties Realty, LLC to with a goal of establishing a real estate firm that focused solely on Daufuskie. Tom has consistently been a leader on Daufuskie Island in listing and selling property. His unique experience as a Daufuskie Island and Hilton Head Island property owner assert his credentials at the top of multi-island producers in the lowcountry.

Heffner's additional experience as a Bank of America foreclosure specialist also proved essential in guiding buyers through the difficult foreclosure and short sale markets that dominate the national market. His multi-island and multi-property ownership through the years will help you discover the islands from the islander's perspective!

Karen Rafferty

About Karen

Karen brings a wide diversity of experiences and education to DPR.  With degrees in business management & marketing, health science and physical therapy earned over the years, Karen has been able to blend the theoretical with the practical starting with a real estate career on Long Island, NY, and her work in health care before returning to her real estate "roots" here on Daufuskie.

And since her arrival with husband George in June of 2015, they have plunged into volunteerism making strong contributions to the Community Farm and the Front Porch while finding time to help the Historical Foundation and the Nature Conservancy whenever the need arises.

On Daufuskie, it is about the lifestyle.  Karen has been able to incorporate her love to ride horseback, bicycling along the moss-draped roads and walking the beach into daily life.  Karen is constantly amazed by the natural beauty of them and so glad she now calls Daufuskie "home".
